Nature's Creativity with Susan McMillan

You will join artist Susan McMillan for 5 hour workshop

Susan McMillan's workshop 'Nature's Creativity' is suitable for beginners and more experienced artists who wish to 'loosen up' their drawing and painting skills by learning many of Susan's semi-abstract techniques.
You will join our retreat guests to do a short mindfulness introduction and walk, then forage from your surroundings in the gardens of The Coach House. The next 2 hours in the studio you begin your introduction to Susan's workshop 'Nature's Creativity' where she will aim to have you leave your inhibitions behind and have fun with your artwork using your 'tools' from nature! Media used during the classes include inks, fluid acrylics and charcoal. Light lunch to follow then you will continue the workshop, developing upon your ideas.

About the Workshop

Suitable for all levels beginners - advanced.


This workshop shall run over one full day on Wednesday 24th May with light plant-based lunch provided. You will work alongside our residential retreat goers at The Coach House, KIrkpatrick.
The workshop runs from 10 am- 4 pm please arrive no later than 9-50am. All art materials provided. It may be advisable to bring aprons or old clothes.

Susan McMillan

Susan is known for her use of mixed media and will demonstrate ways to encourage your artistic creativity. ‘The aim of this workshop is to immerse yourself in creating artwork for the fun of it, we will use a variety of tools to explore mark making (not all conventional!). We will use nature to provide us with inspiration and materials to paint with and to sketch the natural world.' Susan's workshop 'Nature's Creativity is suitable for beginners and more experienced artists who wish to 'loosen up' their drawing and painting skills by learning many of Susan's abstract techniques. Media used during the classes include inks, fluid acrylics, pastels, chalk and charcoal. Susan McMillan is based in South Lanarkshire where her work is on sale and she holds regular workshops and exhibitions.
